The Sacredness of Stillness ~ August 29

Within you there is a stillness and a sanctuary
to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself.

- Hermann Hesse

What Is Meditation?

“Virgo hides the light which irradiates the world in Aquarius.” (1) This quote alludes to the symbology of the Chalice, in its representation as the grid of planetary light workers ~ the world group, associated with the sign Aquarius.

It is Virgo that fosters and makes available to seekers another connotation of the Chalice symbol ~ the sacredness of the material aspect of life.

Through meditation, we may find and access this spiritual connection of all life.

As above, so below ~ there is actually is a constellation named Ara, the Altar, not far from the stinger of Scorpius, south of the zodiacal ecliptic.

In The Labours of Hercules Alice Bailey associates this constellation with the aspirant, who in an act of detached sacrifice, places all upon the altar in order to more fully serve the soul.

Build an altar in the form of a cross in the cave in the center of the head, and there place the persona, as an indication of your willingness to accept the Divine Intent of your Soul.
                 - Lucille Cedercrans, The Nature of the Soul

It is especially important during times of change, of movement and chaos, that we maintain stillness inside. “To meet everything and everyone through stillness instead of mental noise is the greatest gift you can offer to the universe.” (2)
