Note: When the right side of the Moon is illuminated, the Moon is increasing or waxing. When the left side illuminated, the Moon is decreasing or waning. (Of course, this only works in the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere the effect is just the opposite!)

Reflections ~ The Sirius / Leo Cosmic New Moon
July 30, Saturday, 11:40am PDT (18:40 UT)
The Sirius ~ Leo Cosmic Festival is celebrated at the upcoming Full Moon (8/13) occurring during the Sun sign of Leo (7/22-8/23). This great world Festival and its lunar cycle are dedicated to the task of making contact with the evolutionary forces of Sirius, our Spiritual Sun and brightest star in the heavens. The influences of Sirius are focused and regulated through the star Regulus, the heart of the Lion, found in the constellation Leo. Awareness of the Leo-Sirius connection has a unifying effect on all of humanity and its world religions. During this time soul-infused, focused humanity has the opportunity to align with the greater cosmic energies beyond our solar system.
With every New Moon our soul goes into meditation and aligns with the inspiration of the Nirmanakayas; a potential is enlivened and a seed of consciousness is formed deep within. Take some time to create a sacred space. A new cycle is beginning.

August 1, Monday, the youngest sunset Moon forms a triangle with Regulus the regulator of Sirian energies and Mercury the messenger of the gods. You'll be very lucky if you get a glimpse of this horizon hugging, twilight triad. Sunset Map/Text Tune to messages from on High. Be still and know.

The HU-man Is Aroused
The Sirius ~ Leo Cosmic Lunar cycle is awakening humanity to the greater Whole and in turn to its divinity, which can encompass the All-One. Here's to our emergence from darkness into light.
Luna, Virgo the Virgin, Saturn
August 2-4, Tuesday-Thursday, young Luna grows while transiting Virgo the Virgin and visiting Saturn. 8/2-4 Map The Moon when located in the Virgin's Heavenly Holy Grail affirms and fosters a deep growing awareness of the importance of world service on Earth. Saturn in the Holy Grail conceives the structures that exteriorize the unfolding Christ consciousness and cultivate synthesis. Be receptive to these emanations 8/2-4. Luna, Virgo and Saturn are arousing the HU-man* from its slumber. Humanity is the sacred Chalice for the Divine Host on Earth.
Regulus, Mercury Retrograde, Venus, the Sun
August 2, Tuesday, Mercury begins its retrograde cycle (8/2-25) within 1 degree of Regulus, the heart star of Leo the Lion. This star focuses and regulates the cosmic emanations of our spiritual sun, Sirius, toward Earth. Regulus also tunes humanity to the Higher Law of the Soul. Mercury the messenger of the gods remains within 1 degree of Regulus until August 10; it then moves further west of the star toward Venus and the setting Sun.
Note: A shift or change in direction begins to take place now. Allow the new incoming cosmic energies to break up the old patterns. Surrender and maintain during the first half of Mercury retrograde. During the second half pay attention to emerging new ideas.
August 16, 3 days after the Sirius ~ Leo Cosmic Full Moon Festival*, Mercury our divine messenger is in inferior conjunction with the Sun, while Venus the goddess of love is in superior conjunction with the Sun. Both planets on opposite sides of the Sun are in exact conjunction with our central luminary and each other. It's as if these planetary energies are riding the Sun's rays throughout the solar system.
August 21, Venus goddess of Love, Regulus the Royal Hearted Lawgiver, and the Sun the heart of our solar system are in very close proximity. They line up vertically above the sunset horizon. (Venus and Regulus are invisible in the Sun's glaring light.)
August 22 the Sun (heart of our solar system) occults Regulus (heart star of Leo the Lion), which focuses and regulates the emanations of Sirius (esoterically the heart of our Sun) toward Earth!
Note: The Sun occults Regulus annually on or near 8/22.
The HU-man* is truly being aroused, ultimately giving rise to the GOD-man, the Christed ONE, Homo Luminous. The all-encompassing wise heart is being awakened within us by a myriad of pulsing energies. During this lunar cycle imagine the heart of humanity growing in divine love and purpose as these systemic and cosmic energies stream forth through our solar system.
Note: The Mayan New Year began July 26, 2011. Its theme centers on the wisdom of the heart.

BTW: Another cosmic shift is occurring. Regulus located in the constellation of Leo the Lion has been in the seasonal sign of Leo (fire) for more than 2,000 years.
