A New Lunar Cycle Begins eastleft, westright, northtop, southbottom
New Moon ~ The Scorpion's Celestial Fires With every New Moon our soul goes into meditation; a potential is enlivened and a seed of consciousness is formed deep within. Take some time to create a sacred space. A new cycle is beginning. The New Moon and Sun lie in the constellation of the cosmic Scorpion. The burning ground of Scorpius activates the transformative power within us and influences a turning point in the life of humanity and in the life of the individual human being. It reorients the personality to the life of the Soul and later to initiation and sensitivity to the Divine Plan. The Moon is in conjunction with Antares, the Scorpion's red heart star.
The New Moon activates not only Antares in the constellation Scorpius, but also Aldebaran in the constellation Taurus, which lies directly opposite in the zodiacal wheel.
Mercury and Mars conjoin the Sun. All three of these celestial bodies align in the head of the Scorpion, activating Dschuba, the head star, as well as the New Moon and Antares the heart star.
Mercury messenger of the gods illumines the mind strengthening the communication between the soul and personality. Vital, willful and courageous Mars evokes death on many levels through the action and interaction of opposing forces. Mercury, Mars and the Sun create a strong physical and mental energy that can be self-expressive, confident, competitve and explosive. To create the most worthwhile outcome with this trio of energies, it is important to respect the views of others, to know that one need not defeat another to maintain the self and to understand what really needs defending to maintain integrity.
New Moon ~ In Summary The Scorpion's burning ground harmonizes humanity with the inner Divine One. Its dualities of death and life serve each other in evolution's ongoing spiral dance. New evolutionary directions are taking hold within humanity. Our vision must be current and the expression of our Truth is essential and emphasized during this lunar cycle. We must take a stand. Each of us has a piece of the whole puzzle. No one can be excluded or defeated. All must be respected. Each one of us is responsible for transforming desire into spiritual aspiration and releasing the love-wisdom of the indwelling "wholey" One. The celestial fires now present in the Scorpion's realm are giving humanity the opportunity to rise up from the personality's death and enter the new Life of our Higher Self. November 28, Friday, the Moon transits the line-up of Sabik in Ophiuchus and the stinger of the Scorpion. The Scorpion's sting insures transformation, while Sabik emanates the hope of humanity living as bio-illumined beings exemplified by Ophiuchus, the first doctor of medicine and master of the kundalini serpent fire. Imagine the cellular patterns of humanity transforming and radiating more light. [Return to Menu at top]
A Dazzling Feast Following Thanksgiving
November 29, Saturday, a sliver of a very young Crescent Moon lies near the horizon in the direction of the setting Sun. This lunar observation is challenging. One needs a flat unobstructed view, clear skies and right timing. Blazing Venus and brilliant Jupiter, now 2.4º (degrees) apart can be used as a guide to find a wispy, slim Luna. Binoculars may be helpful in spotting the crescent. Moonset occurs around 6:20pm. November 30, Sunday, mark your calendar! This is the first and technically the closest of the two 2º-approaches of Venus and Jupiter, the second occurs tomorrow evening. Tonight Luna rises to the occasion below the stunning pair of planets and sets at 7:15pm. December 1, Monday, mark your calendar! Venus and Jupiter are still only 2º apart however, Luna is now in close proximity to the dazzling duo. This exciting view is bound to knock your socks off! Catch a sunset and feast on the celestial trio until it begins to sink below the horizon around 7:45pm. Moonset occurs around 8:15pm. See the Date Table for exact conjunctions and additional events. Learn more about this dazzling duo and their dance by clicking on the link below.
Overcoming obstacles to the new incoming awareness begins with the waxing Crescent Moon. What was conceived at the New Moon, Taking a Stand ~ The Scorpion's Burning Path to God, review above, is now in the process of waxing or gestating. Sagittarius the cosmic Archer represents the one who has synthesized and unified the dualities, pierced the veil of falsehood and is able to point the way to a Divine re-union. The aspiring Archer’s developed and useful intellect becomes illumined and with intuitive perception is able to see a new type of goal. The Archer takes aim, zeroes in on the light and knows the way to go. Venus in Sagittarius increases understanding and communicates messages of unity to the world. Jupiter in Sagittarius emphasizes the practical and mental manifestation of Wisdom; it brings forth spiritual aspiration in humanity. The joining of Venus and Jupiter makes us feel optimistic, outgoing and agreeable. Venus, Jupiter and Sagittarius encourage us to align with the Divine Plan and take a stand for the Greater Truth that unifies all. Together they ease and emphasize the path to God. A Watery and Fiery First Quarter
Moon Viewing the First Quarter Moon The First Quarter Moon transits 6 hours after the Sun and can be viewed in the day sky. Look for it rising in the east at about noon and in the southern sky at sunset; it sets in the west 6 hours after the Sun around the midnight hour. In the evening get out those binoculars for the best view of the Moon's terminator. The First Quarter Moon is located among the faint "watery" constellations of the Celestial Sea. The "invisible" yet potent telescopic Uranus lies about 5º (degrees) to the lower left of the Moon. Fomalhaut, the brightest light in this dim sea of stars, can easily be seen south of the Moon. Around 7pm look west of the Moon to see Jupiter and Venus only 5º apart and east to see Orion on the rise. 12/5 7pm All-Sky Chart, Venus & Jupiter at Dusk Look Up! Reflections
~ First Quarter Moon, The First Quarter Moon, exact December 5 at 1:26pm PST; 21:26 UT, squares the Sun at a 90-degree angle and brings up a tension between desires and emotions, as we struggle for fulfillment. Ideally any obstacles impeding the awareness conceived at the New Moon are overcome at this time. What new life is emerging within? Initiate actions that help it grow. December 5, Friday, Luna transits telescopic blue Uranus first approaching it from the west, conjoining it and then passing it to the east in the early morning hours of December 6. This lunar cycle's New Moon was on fire in the Scorpion's burning ground. Review above The First Quarter Moon with its tense energy now heats up the fiery Uranus-Fomalhaut duo in the dim sea of watery constellations. Uranus shakes us loose from constrictions, ultimately leading us to inclusiveness; Fomalhaut our southern Royal Star, located at the mouth of the great Southern Fish, Pisces Austrinus, drinks from the jug of Aquarius and is associated with the transition of the ages from Pisces to Aquarius.
Fiery Mars is in exact conjunction with our blazing Sun today at 2:04pm; 22:04 UT. This high energy and explosive duo creates a confidence to stand up for oneself, which can result in conflicts. Intelligent use of this energy respects others' views, understands what really needs defending and knows defeating another is unnecessary in maintaining the self. Fire and water are mixing to create a steam engine of transformation. Change is in the air; new life is emerging! An evolutionary and revolutionary break with our outdated ways is being called for. Take a deep breath and count to 10. Watch out for the hot steam that can burn and cloud one's perspective. As this lunar cycle continues to unfold realize that challenges present opportunities to break free from limiting habits and experience a greater freedom of spirit. Initiate actions that help the new emerging life grow; take a stand and walk your path to God. Hubble

on the given date.
Rise/Set/Transit Times ~ Major Bodies The Great Winter Hexagon ~ The Sacred Hoop The Great Winter Hexagon shown in the above image is a heavenly sacred geometry made up of stars that guide the way and expand the heart. It lies over the Milky Way, the river of souls, like a lens that leads to a place of Holy Communion with the Christ consciousness. The Lakota Indians and other Plains Indians call this hexagon the Sacred Hoop and consider it to be extremely auspicious when the Moon and planets move through the Hoop. The ecliptic (plane of the solar system) and the Milky Way (plane of the galaxy) cross through and intersect near the middle of this configuration, actually forming a cross within a circle. The place of the intersection is between the feet of the Twins and the horns of the Bull ... see blue dot on image. At this current time the exact placement of the summer solstice (0 degree Cancer) falls on this intersection.
Any Full Moon experience can offer us greater illumination of our essential divinity. Issues worked on since the New Moon come to a climax. If the restrictions of the past have been released during the waxing Moon, then the Full Moon can bring fulfillment. If not, the Full Moon might bring serious mental conflicts, possibly affecting the physical body. The Full Moon is exact December 12 at 8:37am PST; 16:37 UT. Full
Moon Global Meditation What was conceived at the New Moon, Taking a Stand ~ The Scorpion's Burning Path to God, review above now comes to fruition and is birthed into the full light of our conscious minds. Reflections ~ Full Moon's Position The exact Full Moon positioned on the northern horn of the cosmic Bull, near the star Elnath, bestows perseverance for the needed breakthroughs. See Moon Map above. Taurus the Bull gives the gift of the enlightened mind when one transforms desire into spiritual aspiration. A desire that has no concern for the goodwill of others can reek havoc and violence on Earth. Attachment to our desires and to a specific manifestation of them imprisons us in a limited, fearful and selfish world. Taurus at its highest brings us spiritual illumination and a larger, more inclusive view of the world. About 12.5 hours after the exact Full Moon large Luna is in conjunction with the intersection of the our solar plane and our galactic plane within the Sacred Hoop (marked by the blue dot on the Moon Map above). Ancient wisdom tells us this is the gateway of incarnating souls. The Gemini Twins, Castor representing the earthly personality and Pollux the heavenly soul, stand upon this celestial portal.
Gemini at its highest represents a sacred union of the earthly and divine fires within; these "twin flames" unite as one in the heart. Castor the mortal twin with his heart ablaze, transforms evil into good and overcomes death because of the sacred covenant he has with his divine twin. Large Luna continues her Sacred Hoop dance with the Twins through December 13. Reflections ~ Full Moon's Illumination The Full Moon during Sagittarius is illuminated by the Sun positioned in our "thirteenth constellation" Ophiuchus the Serpent Bearer, the Medicine Man. Mars conjoins the Sun in this constellation, while Mercury and Pluto lie nearby in conjunction, in the constellation Sagittarius. Mars and the Sun create a strong vital energy that can and does stand up for itself. It is confident, competitive and explosive. Mars evokes death on many levels through the action and interaction of opposing forces. Ophiuchus, master of the raw forces that govern life and death, takes the confident, competitive and explosive energies to new levels of spiritual fulfillment. Mercury and Pluto intensify mental activity and communications, imbuing both with a penetrating and influential quality. The partnership of these planets bestows the ability to get to the bottom of a question, solve a mystery and speak with persuasive vigor and force, even about untruths, which can lead to power struggles. Sagittarius points us in the direction of a great light and the soul's guiding vision. Mercury in Sagittarius inspires the rational mind to see a vision of truth, to let go of the personality’s attachment and begin to turn the attention toward the Kingdom of Souls. This leads to the development of intuition and fosters service toward the Kingdom of Humanity.
In Addition ... In Summary At the time of the Full Moon a Grand Cross forms in the heavens. The Sun and Mars opposing the Full Moon is one arm of the cross and Saturn opposing Uranus is the other. Each point of the cross is square to each point on either side. Squares are unfavorable, bringing stress and revealing obstacles. Oppositions cause tension and awareness; they may be complimentary or discordant. In short ... humanity is hanging on the spiritual cross of matter in the middle of a transformative burning ground. Will the Phoenix rise? Will the Spirit ascend? Breakthroughs and solutions are possible with perseverance, goodwill, intuition and the soul's guiding vision. The time is ripe to take a strong stand and intensely express oneself. However, to transcend power struggles all must be respected and heard; each one of us must take responsibility for transforming desire into spiritual aspiration. We must die to our personality attachments in order to enter the presence and life of the soul. It is death and life and the raw forces governing them that serve humankind's ongoing evolutionary process. The Full Moon occurs within a Sacred Hoop (review above) and transits the intersection of our solar system and galaxy, reminding us of the sacred covenant between the "Twin Flames" of the personality and the soul. United and ablaze they transform evil into good and overcome death. Imagine the "Twin Flames" within uniting as one in a passionate, fiery sacred heart. See countless hearts afire! New directions are taking hold within humanity as it steps upon the Path to God. [Return to Menu at top]
Luna in the Lion's Den!
Treats for Night Owls and Early Birds December 16/17, Tuesday/Wednesday night, Tuesday evening the night owls can see Regulus the heart star of Leo the Lion rise with the waning Gibbous Moon above the eastern horizon around 10:00pm. Saturn follows the pair around the midnight hour. Early birds can view the predawn duo south of overhead, Wednesday morning before sunrise. Rise/Set/Transit Times ~ Major Bodies December 17/18, Wednesday/Thursday night, Wednesday evening the night owls can watch an almost Last Quarter Moon rise around 11:00pm; Saturn follows around the midnight hour. Look for Regulus to the west of the Moon. Early birds can see the entire view south of overhead, Thursday morning before sunrise. The Moon conjoins Saturn 12/18 at 2:58pm PST; 22:58 UT. December 18/19, Thursday/Friday, Thursday evening the night owls can see Leo the Lion's sickle-shaped asterism low on the eastern horizon at 10:00pm. The Sickle continues to rise higher with Saturn coming into view around the midnight hour. The Last Quarter Moon tags along shortly afterwards, positioned east of Saturn at the head of Virgo the Virgin. Early birds see the entire view high in the south before Friday's sunrise. The Last Quarter Moon is exact 12/19 2:29am PDT; 10:29 UT. Saturn ~ Planetary Treat During Sagittarius Reflections ~ Waning Gibbous Luna, Leo the Lion Ideally the waning Gibbous Moon is a time that readies us to manifest anew. It brings illumination to the influences of the entire lunar cycle. If not, dis-ease results. Leo the Lions highest expression is the fully integrated personality who stands out from the "herd" and is ignited by the fire of Divine Will. The Light of Leo is the Light of the Soul and represents a Higher Law of Spirit. Leo's illumination prepares one for participation in the New Group of World Servers. In the constellation Leo a backward question mark of stars curves up from Regulus, the Lion-Hearted Lawgiver. It represents the Lion's chest, majestic mane and head, this pattern is also called the Sickle. The Sickle has the ability to cut through confusion; Regulus the Lawgiver can then stimulate a response in humanity that expresses the quality known as love-wisdom. Saturn in Leo brings about tests of leadership, honesty and integrity. With the planet currently positioned in the hindquarters of the Lion, we are bound to experience the hot air and foul breezes of our leaders and lawmakers! Denebola, the Lions tail star known as the changer, demands evolution. Saturn and the Moon influencing this star can create a powerful reaction and when the Lion's tail "wags" (is stimulated) swift judgment is passed and changes occur. Be aware! It's time to wake up to the Soul's Higher Law and take a stand for honesty, integrity and leadership in the world.
The Last Quarter Moon can bring a crisis in consciousness as the Moon squares the Sun. This cycle's experiences have culminated and one must now prepare for rebirth by initiating change. The Last Quarter Moon is exact Friday, December 19, at 2:29am PST; 10:29 UT.
Waning Luna leaves the Lion's Den and is seen east of Saturn at the head of Virgo the Virgin. Here, Last Quarter Luna transits below the Super Galactic Center (SGC). Our Milky Way Galaxy is one of many tens of thousands of galaxies that cluster together to form a large metagalaxy or Super Galaxy. All these galaxies rotate around a center called the super galactic center (SGC). This super cluster of galaxies is located just above the Virgin's head between Leo's tail star Denebola and Vindemiatrix of Virgo, near the Halo of the Virgin (Coma Berenices). Map
December 19, Friday, early morning to late night, Last Quarter Luna transits this area of the heavens. Look Up! Open to the Super Galaxy's nurturing, evolutionary guidance. Surrender to Divine Intelligence, release the past that no longer serves, initiate the changes that make rebirth possible. Stand united with your Higher Power. Step upon the Path to God.

Reflections ~ Waning Crescent Moon The waning Crescent Moon phase brings enlightenment at a deep level, a time of conscious growth, clarification of values and the surrender to a new future. Rebirth can occur and playfulness can come forth. December 24-26, Wednesday-Friday, the last vestiges of an old Luna hang low on the southeastern horizon just before sunrise. The lunar cycle is ending as it began, in the Scorpion's burning ground. 12/25 7am Sky Chart The burning ground of Scorpius activates the transformative power within us and influences a turning point in the life of humanity and in the life of the individual human being.
