~ New Moon With every New Moon our soul goes into meditation; a potential is enlivened and a seed of consciousness is formed deep within. Take some time to create a sacred space. A new cycle is beginning. The New Moon lies in the constellation Libra, although it appears to be positioned at the legs of Virgo. The Sidereal Heavens shows the boundaries of these constellations.
The Romans, during the time of Julius Caesar, created Libra from the two claws of Scorpius, Zubeneschamali (northern claw) and Zubenelgenubi (southern claw). These stars became the scales of Libra the Balance representing Roman justice; hence the 12th constellation of the zodiac came into being at this time. Image These scales were once linked to Virgo, who was identified with the Greek goddess of Justice, Astraia (or Astraea).
Reflections
~ Mercury, Spica, Virgo Just west of the New Moon, Mercury lies near Spica. Mercury assists in giving birth to Divine messengers by illuminating the higher mind and creating a link between the Soul and the personality. Spica symbolizing the sacred womb of Virgo the Virgin, the Holy Grail, nourishes the Divine presence within humanity until spiritual birth can occur. Just east of the New Moon, Mars lies near Zubenelgenubi in the constellation Libra. The Libran Way demands a poised balance upon the razor-edged path of spirit and matter. Libra requires justice, the perfect point of equilibrium, which brings the scales into balance. Mars is the driving force of will, activation and assertion within each one of us. Its emanations insure we interact with and take action on the physical plane. This can often mean a war with opposing forces. Zubenelgenubi is a star with a dual character. It has the potential of stimulating revenge or repairing a relationship. Its quality is karmic, revealing our past patterns of behavior.
The Moon is moving toward this Zuben star and Mars, transiting them October 28-29, Tuesday-Wednesday evening. This transit also activates Zubeneschamali, the northern claw, which arouses spiritual and mental focus. It is beneficent and aligns us with permanent happiness. Its quality is dharmic, reconciling the past, moving us into the future. Reflections ~ Saturn Opposes Uranus A Saturn opposition to Uranus makes its first exact pass on the USA's election day, November 4. The transit occurs 5 times and makes it final aspect in the summer of 2010.
Nick Fiorenza continues to say that we can go beyond the Saturn/Uranus duality. Pallas, a primary asteroid, and Venus provide the answer.
New Moon ~ In Summary A new cycle of spiritual birth with its karmic and dharmic challenges is being emphasized. Today, our choices and alignment are more important than ever. The Heavens are presently calling us to balance the scales, to find a harmony between spirit and matter, to cultivate equilibrium and know equipoise. During this lunar cycle wounded and conflicted relationships are bound to show themselves along with Libra's urging for justice and compassion, the right use of the pairs of opposites and Zubeneschamali's quality of reconciliation. Polarities, both sides of the coin, must be honored and balanced through wise loving actions and conscious choices. Birthing Divine spirit on Earth is challenging. Reflections ~ Waxing Crescent Moon As
the Moon grows in the light provided by our Sun, Overcoming obstacles to the new incoming awareness begins with the waxing Crescent Moon. What was conceived at the New Moon, Birthing Spirit on Earth ~ A Challenge of Conscious Choice, review above, is now in the process of waxing or gestating. October 31, Friday, the Moon moves east of Dschuba, the head of the Scorpion, to its fiery heart star, Antares. Venus blazes above the Moon. 10/31 Map The burning ground of Scorpius demands personal transformation, while the “rebellious” Antares keeps humanity’s vision for its governing systems updated and current. November 2, Sunday, Luna's Crescent approaches Jupiter. It lies in the top of the teapot asterism of Sagittarius the cosmic Archer. 11/2 Map Sagittarius rides toward the Light, synthesizes dualities, pierces the veil of falsehood and is able to point the way to the all inclusive galactic heart. With the help of residing Jupiter and Pluto, Sagittarius is impressing humanity to aim for the spiritual vision that expands our hearts and minds, which includes the “Whole” Truth that unites us all. This vision is essential for birthing Spirit on Earth.

Reflections ~ First Quarter Moon, Neptune The First Quarter Moon, exact November 5 at 8:03pm PST; 04:03 UT 11/6, squares the Sun at a 90-degree angle and brings up a tension between desires and emotions, as we struggle for fulfillment. Ideally any obstacles impeding the awareness conceived at the New Moon are overcome at this time. What new life is emerging within? Initiate actions that help it grow. November 5-6, Wednesday-Thursday, Luna transits telescopic blue Neptune first approaching it from the west, conjoining it and then passing it to the east. Neptune, which has been retrograde since May, changed its direction a little before midnight November 1 Pacific Time. The planet's forward motion allows humanity to express its connection to Spirit, its creativity and imagination outwardly on the physical plane.
The Moon conjoins Neptune November 6 at 10:24am PST; 18:24 UT and occults (hides) the planet at 19:00 UT in the NE tip of Canada, United Kingdom except SE, S Scandinavia and Iceland. Moon, The waxing Gibbous Moon is more than half lit, moving toward its full sunlit phase. Illumination and growth are offered by this lunar phase, only if the obstacles from the past are cleared away. This must happen, if the energy released with the coming Full Moon is to be utilized. November 7-8, Friday-Saturday, Luna now transits telescopic blue Uranus first approaching it from the west, conjoining it and then passing it to the east.
Luna, Neptune, Uranus and the southern Royal Star, Fomalhaut are generating an awakening within humanity. Neptune at its highest brings in new spiritual insight; Uranus shakes us loose from constrictions, ultimately leading us to inclusiveness; Fomalhaut, at the mouth of the great Southern Fish, drinks from the jug of Aquarius and is associated with the transition of the ages from Pisces to Aquarius. Change is in the air; new life is emerging! An evolutionary and revolutionary break with our outdated ways is being called for. Take a deep breath and count to 10. Remember the theme of this lunar cycle: Birthing Spirit on Earth ~ A Challenge of Conscious Choice. Practice treading the New Moon's razor edged path of Libra, where neither spirit nor mater dominates and equilibrium is maintained. This is the path that brings forth the "cutting edge" ideas that transform our world. Challenges present opportunities to break free from limiting habits, to experience a greater freedom of spirit. Frosty Frigid Full Moon?! November’s Moon is known as the Frosty Moon or more commonly the Full Beaver Moon, a time to prepare for winter and its freezing temperatures.
The Frosty Moon lies in late Aries and conjoins frigid Sedna. This trans-Neptunian object also referred to as an asteroid, minor planet or planetoid, orbits the Sun at an extreme distance, in the coldest known region of our solar system. The position of this type of celestial object is not normally considered in my editions of the Night Sky, however because Sedna is in conjunction with the Full Moon during the time of its 5th anniversary (first found on 11/14/03) it seems auspicious to consider the asteroid's qualities.
Both the Moon and Sedna lie in late sidereal Aries. This constellation represents the birthplace of divine ideas and streams forth the will or power of Deity, made manifest through the creative process. Divine creation on Earth requires the conscious partnership of the male and female energies. We cannot ignore the receptive, intuitive female energies. Warmth, understanding and compassion must replace cold-heartedness, intolerance and hatred. This is the time for a re-union of Yin and Yang. It is a time for healing the hurt of separation.
Reflections ~ The Full Moon Any Full Moon experience can offer us greater illumination of our essential divinity. Issues worked on since the New Moon come to a climax. If the restrictions of the past have been released during the waxing Moon, then the Full Moon can bring fulfillment. Moon Global Meditation What was conceived at the New Moon, Birthing Spirit on Earth ~ A Challenge of Conscious Choice, review above now comes to fruition and is birthed into the full light of our conscious minds. Reflections ~ Full Moon's Illumination The Full Moon during Scorpio is illuminated by the Sun positioned in sidereal Libra. East of the Sun lies paired Mercury and Zubenelgenubi; to the west lies Mars positioned on the border of the constellations Libra and Scorpius the Scorpion. Transformational Scorpio helps us attune to the three lights: of form, of soul and of life, which meet, blend and rise. Libra and Mercury give us insight into the greater whole as we balance the apparent dualities of matter and spirit, of soul and personality. Zubenelgenubi and Mars, as discussed in the New Moon section above, are bound to bring up wounded and conflicted relationships forcing us to interact and take action on the physical plane. Full Moon ~ In Summary The Full Moon brings plenty of opportunities to heal the hurt places in the greater whole. As we consciously choose to recognize, respect and unify the separate expressions of our individual being and that of humanity, we give birth to the Divine Spirit on Earth. It is good to remember humanity is evolving. We are all in the process of learning to listen, trust and act on the unifying guidance of the still small voice in our everyday lives. We affirm our greater identity with the intention and decision to heal the hurtful separations. We can then begin to sacredly manifest on Earth. November 13-14, Thursday-Friday, the waning Gibbous Moon readies us to manifest anew as it transits Taurus the Bull. The enlightened mind is the gift of Taurus when one transforms desire into spiritual aspiration. Review this map for orientation ... Thursday the Moon lies left of the the Bull's shoulder, marked by the blue-white Pleiades star cluster and above the Bull's red eye star, Aldebaran. The Pleiades are intimately linked to Sirius, our Earth, humanity and the higher aspect of mind. The Pleiades seed the vision of Aldebaran, which in turn holds a divine ideal that can aid humanity's evolutionary process through its political systems, its nations. See the illuminating light of the Pleiades and Aldebaran guiding global governance on all levels. Listen and ready yourself to play your part in anchoring this divine light on Earth. Friday the Moon nestles near Elnath, the Bull's northern horn tip. When we look at Elnath we are looking toward the rim of our galaxy and the less-populated regions of intergalactic space, away from the crowded galactic hub. Tune to Elnath for perseverance and breakthroughs. Free yourself from the influences that limit the expression of your divinity.
Luna Wakes Up Leo the Lion
The Last Quarter Moon can bring a crisis in consciousness as the Moon squares the Sun. This cycle's experiences have culminated and one must now prepare for rebirth by initiating change. The Last Quarter Moon is exact Wednesday, November 19, at 1:31pm PST; 21:31 UT.
The Last Quarter Moon enlivens the Lion from the top of his head to the tip of his tail, as it diagonally aligns with the Lion's blue-white heart star Regulus and the ringed planet Saturn. Leo the Lion’s highest expression is the fully integrated personality who stands out from the "herd" and is ignited by the fire of Divine Will. The Light of Leo is the Light of the Soul and represents a Higher Law of Spirit. Leo's illumination prepares one for participation in the New Group of World Servers. In the constellation Leo a backward question mark of stars curves up from Regulus, the Lion-Hearted Lawgiver. It represents the Lion's chest, majestic mane and head, this pattern is also called the Sickle. The Sickle has the ability to cut through confusion; Regulus the Lawgiver can then stimulate a response in humanity that expresses the quality known as love-wisdom. Saturn in Leo brings about tests of leadership, honesty and integrity. With the planet currently positioned in the hindquarters of the Lion, we are bound to experience the hot air and foul breezes of our leaders and lawmakers! Denebola, the Lion’s tail star known as the changer, demands evolution. Saturn and the Moon influencing this star can create a powerful reaction and when the Lion's tail "wags" (is stimulated) swift judgment is passed and changes occur. Be aware! ~ Waning Crescent Moon, The waning Crescent Moon phase brings enlightenment at a deep level, a time of conscious growth, clarification of values and the surrender to a new future. Rebirth can occur and playfulness can come forth. November 20-21, Thursday-Friday morning, Luna's "smiling" waning Crescent first lies between predawn Regulus and Saturn. Sunday morning it moves to the right of Saturn and Denebola, and conjoins Saturn at 6:15am PST; 14:15 UT. Saturn and Uranus remain within a 2-3 degree opposition of each other through the end of 2008. Their first exact pass, discussed above in the New Moon section, occurred on the USA's election day, November 4. Four more exact passes occur ... February 5 and September 15, 2009 – April 26 and July 26, 2010.
Reflections ~ Venus Embraces Nunki November 21-22, Friday-Saturday evening, just after sunset look for Venus near Nunki in the Sagittarius teapot asterism. Sunday the blazing planet lies to the right of the star. Map Monday night Venus lies above the star. Nunki is the vane of the Archer's arrow aimed toward the inclusive Heart of our Milky Way Galaxy. Open to its guiding and stabilizing force that, when paired with Venus ensures the target of love-wisdom is reached.
