Feb. 6 Mercury is in inferior conjunction 10:19am PST; 18:19 UT.
Feb. 7 The Moon conjoins Neptune 2:42am PST; 10:42 UT

The New Moon is really a no Moon! This Moon is too close to the Sun to be seen. It is hidden from our view by the Sun's glowing light. However, during a solar eclipse the Moon passes directly in front of the Sun visibly showing off part or all of its entire dark disk.

Note: For those living in San Francisco this New Moon takes place below the western horizon 2 hours after sunset. The Sun, New Moon and planets are located in the same constellations for other parts of the world; these constellations, in differing time zones, lie in a different location above or below the horizon.

Annular Solar Eclipse

This Annular Solar Eclipse occurs February 7 over Antarctica and the southern Pacific Ocean. UT Time: 03:20 - 04:30 ( PST: 7:20pm-8:30pm Feb. 6)

An Annular Solar Eclipse is produced when the New Moon crosses directly in front of the Sun and does not completely cover it. Instead, the Moon reveals a ring of solar fire around its circumference. This occurs because the Moon is a bit farther from the Earth than usual and appears smaller than the Sun. At total solar eclipses the Moon is closer to the Earth, appears bigger than the Sun and is able to cover it completely. See the difference.

Note: The Moon covers only part of the Sun at partial solar eclipses. A partial eclipse occurs February 7 over most of Antarctica, SW Australia, and New Zealand. UT Time: 01:38 - 06:12 (PST: 5:38pm-10:12pm Feb. 6) .

Reflections ~ New Moon Solar Eclipse

With every New Moon our soul goes into meditation; a potential is enlivened and a seed of consciousness is formed deep within. Take some time to create a sacred space. A new cycle is beginning.

A solar eclipse is always a supercharged New Moon. In this moment of perceived darkness, spirituality and the psyche combine anew, beginning another cycle in the spiral of our personal development.

A Solar Eclipse changes the way we perceive the order of our lives. ... The darkness accentuated by an eclipse can bring a sharp focus of clarity into our field of vision. The infinite unknown must be taken into account. Eclipses are supernatural passageways that accentuate the uncertainty of daily life. The challenge of incorporating streams of new information into a foundation of unconscious beliefs is very stressful. Jacqueline Lasahn AstroFlash 3/16/07

With all eclipses, as the supercharged energies are incorporated into one's consciousness, something ends and something else begins. How To Deal With Eclipses

Reflections ~ New Moon,
Capricornus, Neptune, Mercury

This New Moon marks the Chinese New Year of the Rat. The Rat, the first sign of the Chinese zodiac, is bringing in a new spiral of development and expression for humanity.

The New Moon lies in the constellation Capricornus near Neptune and Mercury. Capricornus is aligning humanity with a new cycle of effort, initiation and service. It is tuning us to our immortal spirit and its earthly potential.

Neptune at its highest brings new spiritual insight and strength, guidance and protection. Mercury illumines the higher mind bridging the personality and soul. Both planets underscore the immortal Spirit, and its earthly expression.

The constellation and both planets are opening the doorway to our divine head center, our connection to the greater world beyond, to a timeless, spaceless place of all-knowing.

Capricornus reminds us, though lost in the light supernal, we turn our back on that light and journey back down the mountain to serve the radiant Life in the material world.

Mercury Is Retrograde

Reflections ~ Aquila, Delphinus

Aquila the Eagle, whose talons carry mighty thunderbolts, soars above symbolizing vision and freedom. This great bird of Zeus is a messenger from heaven ... transforming souls and leading them to immortality. Those mighty thunderbolts, insuring Spirit's freedom within the form, just might shake one to the core. Let go and let God!

Note: It is curious that the eagle, a symbol of the United States, has this close relationship in the heavens with the supercharged New Moon eclipse, a day following the "Super Tuesday" presidential primary elections.

Delphinus, the Dolphin star system, adds more godsend to the New Moon mix. Surrender and experience the magic.

… Delphinus offers guidance for those willing to trust in greater forces than their personal efforts generate alone. The Dolphins, an expression of the angelic dominion, are guides … They reveal the way to make safe passage to our destination provided we listen to and follow the serendipity of life.

To trust in the serendipity of life is merely to surrender our personal righteous reasoning mind that needs to define and control and to allow our selves to move with the Divine Intelligence that permeates and fluidly guides our lives. Here is the art of getting out of our own way to allow a creative solution that leads us from the conforming bounds of limited mind. Nick Fiorenza 2/8/05

In Summary

As the new lunar cycle commences the immortal Spirit is potently illuminated and present for supercharged, insightful, new beginnings on Earth. The infinite unknown and the greater ethereal forces are calling out to humanity to suspend the reasoning mind, to listen deeply, learn, trust, surrender control and co-operate. There is a permeating Divine Intelligence that is persistently and eternally guiding us toward our immortal spirit and its freedom within the form.

Seeking the Youngest Moons ~ Freedom
Thursday-Friday, February 7-8
Look Low in the Southwest Just  after Sunset

Image + Details

Reflections

February 7-8, Thursday evening, the youngest sliver of a Crescent Moon lies between telescopic Neptune and telescopic Uranus. This brief and difficult observation occurs low on the southwestern horizon between sunset at 5:30pm and moonset at 6:30pm . Pacific Coast observers have an opportunity on this night to see a Crescent Moon less than 24 hours old and perhaps its Saber's Beads!

Friday evening another slim Crescent lies near telescopic Uranus with moonset at 7:35pm. The Moon conjoins Uranus 11:49pm PST; 07:49 UT 2/9.

Open to the freedom urge of Uranus and the spiritual guidance of Neptune. Communicate and co-operate with your wise immortal Spirit.

Imagine a blossoming lotus at the crown the head, for you and others in all walks of life.

Reflections ~ Waxing Crescent Moon

As the Moon grows in the light provided by our Sun,
we too grow in the light of our Soul.

Overcoming obstacles to the new incoming awareness begins with the waxing Crescent Moon. What was conceived at the New Moon, Our Immortal Spirit ~ Freedom Within the Form is now in the process of waxing or gestating.

February 9-12, Saturday-Tuesday, the growing Moon moves through a dark sky reminding us of the unseen and unknown ... the Source of all that is. Be still and know. Listen deeply for the still small voice. Ponder Freedom.

Reflections ~ First Quarter Moon, the Pleiades

See Sky Chart Below ... The Quarter Moon night is one of three Valentine nights that enlighten the heart of humanity.

The First Quarter Moon, exact February 13 at 7:33pm PST; 03:33 UT 2/14, squares the Sun bringing up a tension, as it signals the balance between light and dark … moving toward the light. Obstacles to the new incoming awareness show themselves now. Allow the increasing light to expand your awareness. Release that which no longer serves the Soul.

February 13/14, Wednesday / Thursday night, watch the Quarter Moon move closer and closer to Taurus the Bull's shoulder marked by the sparkling blue-white mini dipper-shaped Pleiades star cluster; use binoculars to spot the cluster and check out the Moon. Review the sky chart below.

It is said that the Light of God, also known as Buddhi or universal mind sweeps into manifestation in our solar system via the Pleiades. (see Path to Sirius)

Imagine this eternal Light streaming forth into humanity giving rise to the enlightened sons and daughters of God, who walk the Earth with wise hearts creating freedom in all areas of endeavor.

As the Valentine's Moon grows in Light it transits the constellation Taurus the Bull. For three nights the view promises to touch your heart! Clear skies!

From sunset to sunrise the evening of February 13/14, watch the First Quarter Moon move toward the shoulder of Taurus the Bull marked by the sparkling Pleiades star cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters. ( First Quarter Moon Reflections are found above the sky chart.)

Valentine's evening, February 14, it's as if Cupid's arrow finds its way to the Bull's eye star, when the waxing Gibbous Moon slides north of reddish Aldebaran, our star of enlightenment and the Bull's eye!

February 15 the growing Gibbous Moon forms a stunning and shifting alignment with the planet Mars and the star Elnath, the northern horn tip of Taurus the Bull. Look for the Moon and Mars in a blue sky just before it gets dark. How soon can you spot the Moon? Mars? Elnath? Review the Sky Chart above.

Note: The Moon conjoins Mars 11:48pm PST; 07:48 UT 2/16.

Reflections ~ The Waxing Gibbous
Valentine's Moon, Taurus the Bull

The waxing Gibbous Moon is more than half lit, moving toward its full sunlit phase. Illumination and growth are offered by this lunar phase, only if the obstacles from the past are cleared away. This must happen, if the energy released with the coming Full Moon is to be utilized.

The enlightened mind is the gift of Taurus the Bull when one transforms desire into spiritual aspiration. At Valentine's the emmanations of this constellation are awakening the heart of humanity to aspire to create a wider sphere of love.

In our stellar myth, young souls from the Pleiades, emissaries of light, on a mission to graduate into the "office of the Christ" (into their own soul awakening) were to come to a planet (Earth) and aid its people ... to learn to become true servers and guides. They were to help seed the "Vision of Aldebaran."

... the emissaries' journey from the Pleiades through Hyades (hell) [*] to manifest the Vision of Aldebaran articulates the journey through the first half of sidereal Taurus. In this myth, the starseeds lost the vision of which they were to manifest ... Their vision had become obscured due to the tempting and alluring nature of human physically. Nick Fiorenza / Lunar Planner

The Horns of the Bull embody the evolutionary and primordial pursuit, struggle and engagement in the physical world. El Nath brings capacity for tenacious perseverance for accomplishment, providing drive to persevere and fight to achieve a breakthrough. El Nath is worthy pursuit for the future spiritual freedom. Nick Fiorenza / CirclesOfLight, com

The Pleiades seed the vision of Aldebaran, which in turn holds a divine ideal that can aid humanity's evolutionary process through its governing bodies, its nations. Humanity’s struggle is evolutionary and age-old. We often hang on the horns of a dilemma having to make a difficult choice. Desires and spiritual aspirations tug and pull at us.

Elnath, the northern horn tip of Taurus lies almost opposite the Heart of our Milky Way Galaxy. This star helps us persevere and make breakthroughs. It expands our horizons. When we look at Elnath, we are in alignment with the Galactic Heart and focussed toward intergalactic space. Elnath moves us beyond our limits, while keeping us in touch with the all inclusive expansive heart of our galaxy.

Look Up! Awaken to the enlightening energies available during Valentine's. Open to the love that brings forth the greatest good for All! See this love light stream forth into our hearts and minds and anchor on Earth. Be grateful for true love and the Fact of Immortality and Eternal Persistence.

Reflections ~ Red Triad, Valentine's Star

The Red Triad, seen in the map above, is potently activated during Valentine's. The emanations of these three red celestial bodies are aiding humanity in creating a new world. Aldebaran is providing an enlightened vision for humanity and its governing systems. Mars the spiritual warrior is giving us plenty of opportunities and challenges to courageously interact with opposing forces, thus bringing about change, death and rebirth. Betelgeuse is stimulating humanity's heart, increasing compassion, cooperation and service within our relationships.

The Valentine's Star can be seen overhead between 8:00pm - 9:00pm and is part of the Red Triad. Emanations from this star help our hearts to soar and free our Spirit.

February 16-17, Saturday-Sunday, "fattening" Luna visits the Gemini Twins. The first night Luna lies near the star Mebsuta. Moonlight may interfere with this observation. Binoculars provide a handy viewing treat. The following night fattening Luna aligns with the head stars of the Twins. Pollux lies closest to the Moon, Castor lies near Pollux

Pollux represents immortality and the soul, while Castor represents mortality and the personality.

... The role of the Twins is one of linking and uniting the mission of the soul into and through our incarnate daily affairs and mode of participating in the world. The Twins work hand-in-hand for the betterment and evolutionary fulfillment of humankind. Nick Fiorenza /Lunar Planner

Listen deeply for the guiding still small voice. Trust in the greater serendipitous forces; experience the freedom of Spirit within the form.

February 18, Monday, Luna lies at the heart of the constellation Cancer, to her right lie the Gemini Twins and to her left lies the backward "L-shape" made up of yellowish Saturn (outer bottom of the "L"), blue-white Regulus (angle of the "L") and Algieba (top of the "L") and neck star of Leo the Lion. Sky Chart

In Cancer one is bound to be limited within the form in order to learn from life’s experiences. Ultimately, we must come to the realization life is beyond the form experience—we do not belong in the spiritual sense to the form life and eventually we orient ourselves to the life of the spirit, the real everlasting life. The Full Moon

Any Full Moon experience can offer us greater illumination of our essential divinity. Issues worked on since the New Moon come to a climax. If the restrictions of the past have been released during the waxing Moon, then the Full Moon can bring fulfillment. If not, the Full Moon might bring serious mental conflicts, possibly affecting the physical body.

What was conceived at the New Moon, Our Immortal Spirit ~ Freedom Within the Form, review above now comes to fruition and is birthed into the full light of our conscious minds.

Reflections ~ Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse

This lunar cycle began with a New Moon annular solar eclipse and is now culminating with a total lunar eclipse! Eclipses supercharge the emanations of a New and Full Moon.

A lunar eclipse is a time of endings, culmination points and major changes. Expect to feel the strong effects of an eclipse two days before and three days after it occurs.

The blocking of the Moon's reflection of the Sun's light by the Earth suggests that our material viewpoint stands in the way of our "seeing the light". It serves as a reminder that we need to realize how we are held in the dark by virtue of our perspective. Zodiac Arts 2/21/07

Beginnings and endings, major changes are eclipsing our lives now.

The heightened impact of eclipse energy can be felt by everyone as much as 3 months in advance and has subtle reverberations for as long as 3 years afterwards. Although the energies are most prominent for a week on either side of the eclipse (many feel a heightened sense of anxiety during this period), the influence on events continues. Eclipse periods are extremely active, often associated with meaningful events and public exposure. Zodiac Arts 2/6/08

Three billion people around the world are estimated to view the Full Moon eclipse! That's a lot of people tuning in to the potent emanations of these celestial bodies.

Reflections ~ The Full Moon's Illumination

The Full Moon during Pisces is illuminated by the Sun in the constellation Aquarius. The lunar theme of immortality and freedom continues to unfold with this illumination. During Pisces we focus on the Keynote: Fully liberated I know myself to be Divine. The Sun positioned in the constellation Aquarius transmits this constellation's light throughout the solar system; this light is healing, purifying and moves humanity toward greater freedom by awakening the spirit of group consciousness and service.

In addition our solar luminary shines its light from within the center of a celestial diamond, for it is positioned between the planets Uranus and Neptune and the stars Enif and Fomalhaut. This diamond radiating its qualities through the Sun also aligns humanity with immortality and freedom.

Neptune enlivens our immortal, intuitive, spiritual nature, while Uranus shakes us loose from constrictions. Enif the nose of Pegasus the magical Flying Horse stimulates humanity's intuitive awareness and sensitivity to humanitarian/Aquarian endeavors. Fomalhaut the mouth of the Southern Fish drinks the water from the jug of Aquarius and inspires a new vision for humanity, which supports individuality, progress, and freedom.

Reflections ~ The Full Moon's Position

The Full Moon total lunar eclipse is postioned in the constellation Leo the Lion between Regulus the Lawgiver and Saturn the Lord of Karma. Regulus focuses and regulates the energy of Sirius toward the Earth. The Royal, Lion-Hearted Lawgiver can then stimulate a response in humanity that expresses the Christ consciousness, the quality we call love-wisdom.

Leo is emblematic of both lions and kings ... Now [with Saturn in Leo] the focus will be on leadership, honesty, integrity, and the leaders themselves will be facing stern tests. History reveals that kings and leaders do not fare well with Saturn in Leo, especially when hubris is involved. It often brings about shifts in national borders and even in regimes themselves.

... When we recognize that leaders are a necessary part of life and that one can operate best as a leader without hubris, we have made a leap in learning the lessons of Saturn in Leo. Jim Sher

Saturn is moving back toward Regulus the Lawgiver. The planet’s retrograde motion (12/19/07-5/1/08) is bound to show us our limitations and make us question the laws that are governing our lives. Practices that support genuine self-love, goodwill and the connection with our Higher Power are needed now.

Note: We feel a retrograde planet's energies more potently because it is in close proximity to Earth. Retrograde Saturn is at opposition February 24 so it is at its "best" now!

In Summary

It's as if the immortal Selves are calling out to the mortal selves for a Divine manifestation on Earth. Intuition is being stimulated and greater guiding forces are asking us to trust in the serendipity of life and take the leap beyond the reasoning mind, to let go and let God.

Humanity is being lead toward a new Aquarian vision that holds group awareness, service, individuality, progress and freedom at its core. We must integrate streams of information from the infinite unknown, thereby removing the veils of a limited material viewpoint from our consciousness.

Major changes are in store for humanity. It is time for new leaders with the greatest good at heart, to rise up from the masses. Old governing systems must be updated and their laws and leaders must face scrutinizing tests in order to align with the all-inclusive love and wisdom of the soul.

Watch old ways die and soul force increase on the planet as we identify with our immortal Spirit. In this work, we begin to understand the Fact of Immortality. With Divine guidance, we can be eternally persistent and experience greater and greater freedom within the form. As ONE we unify in this grand sacred human endeavor.

Reflections ~ Waning Gibbous Moon, Virgo the Virgin

Ideally the waning Gibbous Moon brings illumination to the influences of the entire lunar cycle. If not, dis-ease results.

February 22-24, Friday-Sunday, the waning Gibbous Moon transits Virgo the Virgin, conjoining its brightest star Spica Sunday, February 24. Moonlight may interfere with this observation. Binoculars may come in handy.

Once again the Moon is stirring the immortal essence of humanity from its slumber as it visits Virgo the Virgin’s heavenly Holy Grail. The emanations of the Virgin’s celestial chalice nurture and shield the hidden divinity of each one of us until spiritual birth can occur.

During these days practice the gentle art of blessing. Embrace and celebrate your essential divinity and that of others. Take some time to be still with your immortal Self.

Namaste

Reflections ~ Last Quarter Moon, Scorpius

The Last Quarter Moon can bring a crisis in consciousness as the Moon squares the Sun. This cycle's experiences have culminated and one must now prepare for rebirth by initiating change. The Last Quarter Moon is exact February 28, Thursday, at 6:18pm PST; 02:18 UT 2/29.

February 28, Thursday morning, look for the Moon west of Antares, the red heart star of the cosmic Scorpion, Scorpius. Moonrise occurs at 1:00am, sunrise around 6:45am. As the day unfolds the Moon moves toward Antares until it lies beneath the star at the exact time of the Last Quarter Moon! This conjunction occurs below the horizon for North Americans.

The cosmic Scorpion demands personal transformation, while "rebellious” Antares keeps humanity’s vision current by testing outdated governing systems and old ways of being.

Note: Opposite Antares in the zodiacal wheel lies Aldebaran, the illuminating eye of Taurus the Bull, our star of enlightened vision.

Scorpio's burning ground of transformation is like the seat of the coiled Kundalini Fire and Antares the kundalini itself. It's as if Antares wields the Fire of God by its connection to illuminating Aldebaran. This connection can be experienced as hideous and monstrous or majestic and of infinite splendor, just like the rising of one's kundalini. One's level of evolution would determine how this connection is experienced.

The Last Quarter Moon brings crisis for it stimulates change and rebirth. As this Moon aligns with Antares, the evolutionary tension is magnified regarding that which governs our lives globally, nationally and personally. Stand up for that which supports freedom and fulfillment. Make the needed changes and prepare for rebirth.

February 29, Friday morning, the Moon rises 2:00am east of Antares. During this day the Moon transits the star Sabik as it moves toward the stinger of the Scorpion.

Sabik, Eta Ophiuchus stimulates discovery about the means for our bio-logical transmutation into an ascended bio-illumined form. This includes ... the techniques and technologies that support humankind's evolution ... where we express the higher-dimensional light codings of our souls ... re-define the cellular patterns we hold ... to create a new experience rather than perpetuate those existing. Nick Fiorenza 10/21-22/06

Sabik, Scorpius and the Moon underscore transformation from our head to our toes and the Scorpion's stinger insures it! Imagine everyone you see today glowing with bio-illumined light. Know this evolutionary light is glowing within you.

BTW: The Red Triad made up of Betelgeuse, Mars and Aldebaran form a nearly perfect equilateral  triangle this evening. Look Up! 2/29 8pm Star Map Compare the color and brightness of each. They shine at the following magnitudes; Mars remains the brightest at 0.2, then Betelgeuse at 0.5 and finally Aldebaran the least bright at 0.9. Review reflections above. (click back to return)

Reflections ~ Waning Crescent Moon,
Cosmic Archer, Jupiter, Pluto

The waning Crescent Moon phase brings enlightenment at a deep level, a time of conscious growth, clarification of values and the surrender to a new future. Rebirth can occur and playfulness can come forth.

Use the above map for orientation ...

March 1-3, predawn Saturday-Monday, the waning Moon transits the constellation of Sagittarius the Cosmic Archer. The Moon first positions itself west of Jupiter near the spout of the teapot asterism and then at its handle. Finally a slim Crescent passes east of Jupiter and lies at the eastern border of Sagittarius. Jupiter rises just before 4:00am. Moonrise: 3:00am, 3:45am, 4:30am

Note: The Moon conjoins Jupiter March 2 at 5:43pm PST; 01:43 UT 3/3.

BTW: Mercury and Venus hug the east-southeast horizon in the twilight sky. Binoculars may be needed to spot the twilight duo. Mercury reaches greatest elongation March 3. 3/3 6:30am Map

The celestial Centaur rides toward the light with the temporary support of Jupiter and the long lasting partnership of "invisible" Pluto. They are bound for the Heart of our Galaxy (Galactic Center) leading humanity beyond its mortal limits toward freedom and immortality.

Predawn Moon Aligns with Galactic Center March 1

The cosmic Archer along with Jupiter and Pluto impress humanity to aim for the spiritual vision that expands our hearts and minds, which includes the “Whole” Truth that unites us all. Sagittarius Keynote

Pluto the agent of death packs a powerful punch in Sagittarius, where it brings unrelenting transformation to humanity's most basic belief structures. Expect that which no longer serves the greater whole to fall away. Ask for inner guidance during these times of transition and rebirth. Embrace the needed changes.

March 4-5, predawn Tuesday-Wednesday, the last vestiges of a Crescent Moon approach the twilight duo, Mercury and Venus. Jupiter lies to the east as can be seen in the image above. March 5 a sliver of a morning Moon slides between Mercury and Venus forming a tight triangle with the duo. Binoculars are needed to view faint Mercury. Keep your eyes safe by not looking at the Sun with binoculars.

Note: Neptune invisibly lies just east of Venus; these two planets are in conjunction March 6, Thursday, at 4:03pm PST; 00:03 UT 3/7. Mercury, Venus and Neptune all lie in the constellation Capricornus. Check out the date table for March 5, which lists the lunar conjunctions / occultations of these 3 planets.

Reflections ~ Mercury, Venus, Neptune, Capricornus

This lunar cycle is ending in the constellation where it began, Capricornus. Mercury and Venus now join Neptune in this constellation through March 10. Afterwards Mercury and Venus enter Aquarius, while Neptune continues to reside in Capricornus.

Capricornus aligns humanity with a new cycle of effort, initiation and service. This constellation carries the seeds of death for the material life and awakens one to the higher frequency of spirit.

Neptune at its highest brings in a new spiritual surge and strength, along with guidance and protection. Both the constellation and the planet are known to open the doorway to the head center and bestow humanity with divine purpose and vision. This dual stimulation makes people want to manifest their dreams, rebuild structures or create new ones.

The emanations of Venus help one begin to understand the causes and conditions of harmony and conflict; thereby lovingly and wisely linking the lower mind to the higher mind. Mercury illuminates the higher mind, linkng the soul to the personality creating divine messengers.

[Venus in Capricornus] reveals a direct mental line for the externalisation of Love from the "place where the Will of God is known" to the outer world. … this placement is always at work creating structures and interconnections between people, nations, and world resources, so that the sustaining and cohesive qualities of loving intelligence may manifest for the collective benefit of all. Venus in Esoteric Astrology

Mercury’s function in this sign [constellation Capricornus] is to relate intelligently, {that is consciously}, the spiritual Man with the individual living his, or her human life in the outer world. Thus the Plan of the Creator is brought down to Earth through the spiritualised mind of humanity … Mercury in Esoteric Astrology

The end of this lunar cycle affirms and underscores the lunar theme: Our Immortal Spirit ~ Freedom Within the Form. As our immortal spirit provides vision and purpose, the Will of God is known through an intelligent spiritualized mind, a wise loving heart and right relationship. With Divine alignment we are eternally persistent; we receive spiritual guidance and experience greater and greater freedom within the form.

The new day is dawning! Imagine humanity walking through an open doorway into the light of the soul.
