As we work toward the establishment of a world religion it is advised, in the works of Alice A. Bailey, that we attune to the energies of Sirius available at the Leo Full Moon. In our endeavor to make contact with Sirian force, we are cooperating in the development of a major spiritual festival at the time of this full moon, that one day will be celebrated by all of humanity. (1) During this Sirius~Leo Festival, as we attune to the Light of Leo, the Light of the Soul, we are able in group meditation to invoke the Avatar of Synthesis, who is to come as a result of the united invocation of Humanity and the Hierarchy. This cycle offers an opportunity for spiritual approach that is of great importance and significance. In this endeavor, we are pursuing Humanity's Divine Destiny, "... mysteriously related to the revelation of love upon our little planet, the Earth, through the process of creation ...." (2) We consecrate ourselves to the most high Life within the Self for this service, in celebration of the Sirius~Leo Festival. We now seek and find the light of Sirius, and doing so we prepare Humanity to become one with this light. This is our Path, we are the Light, we are becoming the Way.
Alignment During the Leo cycle ~ New Moon to New Moon Reading Materials
Sirius Revealed Sirius, associated with freedom and liberation, is the brightest star in the night sky and at 8.6 light years away from Earth, is the closest major star to our own solar system. Sirius is closely associated with Leo, and at the powerful full moon during this cycle, the Sirius energies are of significant influence. Sirian Initiation As we journey through space together with the Milky Way galaxy, we travel also along with the Sirian system. The significant connection between our relatively unimportant little planet and that vast expression of Divinity ~ the Life manifesting through Sirius ~ is an organized and vital expression beyond anything humanity can vision, and is free to a completely unlimited extent, again beyond any power we can comprehend. Cosmic Identification This Divine Truth of Deity affirms the interrelation between the starry heavens, the solar system, and the planetary spheres is real and effectual. (5) It is through the practice of Living the Radiant Life, in this context, that we may understand the nature of Spirit. For, to bring Spirit fully into our daily lives is service to the One. The Lighted Way The entire zodiac can be approached and understood from the angle of light ~ the inner light, soul light ~ and its unfolding, increasing radiance is the manifestation of our divine nature. (6) Study of the 12 different lights for each of the constellations of the zodiac reveals the symbolic story of the growth of the light body within the Soul of Humanity (the Macrocosm) and within each of us (the Microcosm), and will finally make clear the very purpose of God. Night Sky ~ Moon Dances During each lunar cycle the Moon, waxing and waning, journeys through the zodiac. It partners with and enlivens the sparkling stars and glowing planets along the way. As the Moon grows in the light provided by our Sun, we too grow in the light of our Soul.

Our meditation focus beginning at the new moon leads into the two "days of preparation" immediately preceding the full moon. Best as is possible, these are to be dedicated to spiritual reflection and detachment from everyday concerns, as each prepares to become a vessel for the energies of light and love they will receive and channel. At this time we hold the attitude of dedication and service, and seek to assume such an attitude of receptivity to that which our soul will impart, which will make us of spiritual use. The day of the full moon itself is the "day of safeguarding," one of inner peace and silence during which we attempt to contact and consciously hold the energies for the rest of humanity. We will not formulate for ourselves what will happen, nor will we look for results or tangible effects. While one may not observe the exact moment when the moon is full, it's important to find some quiet time to reflect alone or use this opportunity to meditate with others of like mind and focus. The two succeeding days are called the "days of distribution." We now turn the attention outwards, away from ourselves, and our efforts are to pass on the spiritual energies that have been contacted. We assist these spiritual energies, transformed into Goodwill, in flowing to where there is greatest need. If you wish, feel free to continue use of this meditation for the entire month of Leo. We now continue to hold the high space throughout this most auspicious day of the full moon, an important time to still the mind and maintain inner peace, a time of spiritual retreat and contact. Through Avatars, God, the Emanator, Originator, Creator ~ whatever term we may choose in order to identify that great Source of all that exists ~ periodically makes such a dramatic Approach to humanity. Avatars The Doctrine of Avatars relates all great faiths to one central source. When our invocation is consistently strong enough, when those conscious Beings who know are clear enough, we will know an avatar has come. There is no exception to this Universal Law. Towards these Great Beings every mind can be directed, and in doing so, will be affected.
