Dubhe
One of the Seven Prominent Stars in the Great Bear

Great waves of energy cyclically sweep through our entire solar system from the seven well-known stars of the Big Dipper in the Ursa Major constellation, also called The Great Bear.

As you may be impressed to meditate on Dubhe (Alpha Ursae Majoris (1)), whose keynote is Unification, you are invited to join us in tuning into the vision this great star brings.

Dubhe …
One of the Seven Rishis of the Great Bear

Dubhe and the other six stars of the Big Dipper are esoterically known as the Seven Rishis and correspond to the head centers in the body of a Great Being. Each of these stars transmits a ray of energy into our solar system. These seven rays are the givers of life to all on this earth. In the springtime during the three major planetary festivals, the Big Dipper can be seen overhead in the early evening pouring out its heavenly contents upon an awakening earth.

The energy emanating from Dubhe guides humanity upon our journey into physical form. This star is characterized by the quality of Love-Wisdom, known as the Second Ray, in its highest expression.

With its quality of Love-Wisdom, Dubhe evokes the soul-infused personality. Its stimulation of the heart and the head leads to unification and spiritual vision.

True love or wisdom sees with perfect clarity the deficiencies of any form, and bends every effort to aid the indwelling life to liberate itself from trammels. It wisely recognizes those that need help, and those that need not its attention. It hears with precision, and sees the thought of the heart in seeking ever to blend into one whole the workers in the field of the world. This it achieves not by blindness, but by discrimination and wisdom .... (2)

The path of least resistance for Dubhe's ray of Love-Wisom lies along the line of expansion, of a gradual inclusion.

As we align with Dubhe, we fill up with these qualities and energies. With Unanimity in our hearts and a connection to the support and guidance of the Spiritual Hierarchy, we rise as One; form a united channel; and are able to radiate evolutionary energies upon the earth. Together, we make things new in service to the One.

Astronomical information on Dubhe
This reddish-yellow star and the star Merak form the two pointer stars of the Big Dipper that point to our north star, Polaris. Dubhe is nearest to Polaris. Dubhe is orbited by a smaller companion star.

(1) Generally speaking a star with the Alpha designation is the brightest star in a constellation. Though not quite the brightest of its constellation, just two percent short of Alioth (the Eta star, third in from the handle of the Dipper), Dubhe received the Alpha designation when astronomer Johann Bayer simply lettered the Dipper's stars from west to east, from Dubhe to Alkaid, the latter bringing up the end of the Bear's tail.
